Matt McIntosh is an award-winning freelance journalist, communications professional, and farmer working to connect people with the land they call home.

Based near the northwest shore of Lake Erie, Matt regularly covers an array of agriculture, environment, geopolitics, policy, and other subjects with a systems thinking lens. He holds a BA (Hons) in political science with a focus on agricultural issues from the University of Guelph, and regularly contributes to publications targeting both agricultural audiences and the general public. He’s also active in the Eastern Canada Farm Writers’ Association, and in his local Soil & Crop Improvement Association.

At home, Matt works with his family on a farm for which seven generations of his family have called home. His connection to the land has spurred a lifelong interest in conservation, and the desire to support nature, climate, and farming for future generations. During off-hours, Matt enjoys playing music, hiking, hunting and fishing, and a good barbeque.
